Not All Seizures Look Alike

Can you recognize the signs of a seizure? Symptoms and signs vary from child to child and can sometimes be hard to recognize. If your child is showing the following signs, it could be a seizure:

Signs of a Seizure

  • Staring spells and inability to respond to others
  • Repetitive behavior that cannot be interrupted or stopped
  • Involuntary movement of arms or legs
  • Auditory or visual hallucinations
  • Loss of awareness or consciousness
  • Uncontrollable urinary incontinence

The team of neurologists and neurosurgeons at Boys Town Hospital is the largest in the region. Our providers and specialty physicians care for the whole child, from medical diagnosis and treatment to wrap-around services that address physiological, social, emotional and co-occurring conditions.
